Legal Fees for Wills & Probate Services

At Angira Solicitors, we provide clear and transparent pricing for our Wills and Probate services. All fees are quoted excluding VAT (currently 20%).

  1. Wills Preparation

Simple Will
A straightforward Will covering basic wishes such as the distribution of assets to family members.
Minimum Fee: £150 – £200 + VAT

Mirror Will
A Will for couples or partners, typically leaving everything to one another.
Minimum Fee: £200 – £250 + VAT per person

Complex Will
A Will with more complex arrangements, such as trusts, multiple beneficiaries, or specific bequests.
Minimum Fee: £350 – £500 + VAT

Will with Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA)
Includes both a Will and the preparation of one or both types of LPA (Property & Financial Affairs and Health & Welfare).
Minimum Fee:

Simple Will + LPA: £300 – £400 + VAT

Each LPA: £100 – £150 + VAT (additional charge)

  1. Probate & Estate Administration

Grant of Probate Only
If the estate is straightforward and you only require assistance to obtain the Grant of Probate.
Minimum Fee: £500 – £600 + VAT (for simple estates)

Full Estate Administration
A comprehensive service to manage all aspects of administering an estate, including obtaining the Grant of Probate, distributing assets, paying debts, and completing tax returns.
Minimum Fee: £1,500 – £3,000 + VAT (based on complexity)

Estimated Total Costs:
For a typical estate, fees range from £2,000 to £6,000 + VAT, depending on the estate’s complexity, number of beneficiaries, and size of the estate.

Hourly Rates for Probate Services

In more complex cases, or where an hourly rate is preferred, we offer the following:

Senior Solicitor: £250 – £350 + VAT per hour

Associate Solicitor: £175 – £225 + VAT per hour

Trainee Solicitor or Paralegal: £100 – £150 + VAT per hour

Other Costs You May Incur

In addition to our fees, the following disbursements may apply:

Court Fees:
For a Grant of Probate application, court fees are typically £300 (including £1.50 per copy of the Grant of Probate).

Probate Valuation Fees:
If professional valuations (e.g., for property or antiques) are required, costs will vary, typically ranging from £100 to £500 per item.

Postage and Disbursements:
Out-of-pocket expenses incurred on your behalf, such as postage and copying, are charged as they arise.

Inheritance Tax:
If applicable, inheritance tax is payable directly to HMRC, based on the value of the estate.
